IMA North America launched UNILINE, a new system that integrates the functions required for a complete counting line: container loading, desiccant insertion, counting and filling, cotton insertion, capping, rejection and coding.

UNILINE was designed for continuous operation, with high output efficiency while minimizing rejects.  It is automated by a Schneider Electric ELAU system using up to 10 axes of servo motion.

With UNILINE, every container is uniquely contained and identified in its own position on the conveyor, to ensure traceability at every stage of the packaging cycle, from loading to rejection. Thanks to the innovative bottle transfer system, UNILINE presents a linear design, with all operations clearly visible and ergonomically accessible to operators.

Each container is positioned inside a dedicated housing, ensuring traceability at every stage of the packaging cycle, from loading to rejection. To package toxic products or products sensitive to temperature and humidity changes, specific containment and conditioning chambers can be created within the system.  So there’s no need to incur the cost of conditioning the entire packaging room.

At just 16 feet long, the GMP compliant design is very compact and streamlined compared to a traditional line.  There are no size parts required for changeover, regardless of diameter or height.  Full visibility and access are provided during changeover to help prevent stray product from becoming hidden on the conveyor line.

UNILINE is the result of intense teamwork and experience gained over the years from IMA Safe Line, IMA Swiftpack and IMA Nova.

IMA can provide pharmaceutical companies with complete counting lines, including layouts, engineering, utility distribution, project management, line specifications, coordination of installation, testing and validation, training and inspections.
