Omron has introduced an ultra-small, fixed-mount multicode reader that automatically recognizes commonly used bar codes and 2-D matrix codes to simplify setup.

Measuring just 58 x 46 x 24.2-mm, the palm-sized, metal-bodied model V400-R mounts almost anywhere. The combination of flexible mounting orientation and front- or side-view models makes the V400-R extremely versatile when installing. A built-in aiming guide quickly locates the reading area for recognition within a 60-mm working distance and the 52 x 41-mm field of view. Reader scans codes twice to reduce discrepancies and ensure data accuracy even if the code is oriented in reverse.
