Traditional appearance meshes with modern functionality
Classic packaging designs are resurfacing in some categories to make new products look old and attract consumer interest through nostalgia.
Here’s one example in health and beauty aids.
The Body Shop uses a clip jar for three products in its Spa Wisdom line. The jars from RPC Bramlage are styled on the classic hermetically sealed metal-handle glass storage jar.
A galvanized-metal handle and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) sealing ring top off the jars which are injection-molded of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and screen-printed in two colors.
The 125-mL jar is used for Africa Spa Honey Butter the 200-mL jar holds Africa Spa Rich Body Balm and the 350-mL jar contains Africa Spa Salt Scrub.
This package suggests an upscale product and it could also work well in foods gifts and storage.
