The robust design is suitable for industrial applications, and the units switch to sleep mode if the parent packaging machine is powered down, or it can be programmed to sleep if the line is unused for a predetermined length of time. When the line restarts, the coder powers up again in less than 1 sec. SmartDate 5 comes readily configurable between intermittent and continuous mode and between left- and right-handed operations. A new top speed of 1,000 mm/sec delivers a 25% increase in performance in the combined printer model.
