GreenerPackage.com's Greener Package Awards competition for innovation in sustainable packaging made its debut this year, with 51 companies entering detailed specifications on their new and greener packages for consideration. Judging for the competition—a meticulous and time-consuming process—was done remotely by members of the Greener Package Expert Network, with six individuals forming the executive committee. The judges represented a range of sustainability expertise and included retailers, packaging designers, consumer packaged goods companies, and packaging suppliers.
In this brief, three-minute podcast, John Delfausse, vice president of package development for Estée Lauder and a member of the Greener Package Awards executive committee, shares insight on what he was looking for in a winning package.
Two other podcasts are available, with comments from judge Lisa Baer, president of Baer Design Group, and from Ron Cotterman, executive director of sustainability for Sealed Air.
