Blue Ridge Paper Products Inc. (Asheville, NC) has signed a letter of intent to purchase Westvaco Corp.’s (New York, NY) liquid packaging business.

Additional- ly Westvaco has completed the acquisition of a Temple-Inland Inc. (Evadale TX) bleached paperboard mill. Westvaco has also completed its previously announced acquisition of Mebane Packaging Group (Mebane NC).—Cargill Dow Polymers (Minnetonka MN) a 50:50 joint venture between Cargill Inc. (Minneapolis MN) and Dow Chemical Co. (Midland MI) has unveiled a new packaging polymer made from annually renewable resources.—Honeywell Engineered Applications & Solutions (Morristown NJ) is a new business that was formed out of the AlliedSignal Inc. (Morristown NJ) and Honeywell Inc. (Freeport IL) merger in December.—Roper Industries Inc. (Tucson AZ) has acquired Motion Analysis Systems Div. (San Diego CA) from the Eastman Kodak Co. (San Diego CA) and Redlake Imaging Corp. (Morgan Hill CA).—Nichols Paper Products (Nichols WI) has acquired the assets of Hi-Tech Film (Kaukauna WI) which has been renamed Hi-Tech Plastics Inc.—Berlin Packaging (Chicago IL) announced its merger with Knap-Pac Inc. (New York NY).—Mobil Chemical Co.’s Film Div. (Macedon NY) has become the Films Business of ExxonMobil following Mobil’s merger with Exxon Corp. (Houston TX).—Menasha Corp. (Neenah WI) recently acquired the assets of Comark Bates (Elk Grove Village IL).
