ITW receives 2008 Keep America Beautiful Vision for America Award
National nonprofit community improvement organization recognizes Illinois Tool Works Inc. for commitment to the environment.

Keep America Beautiful, Inc., the
nation’s largest nonprofit community improvement organization, has
chosen ITW as its 2008 Vision for America Award honoree. Keep America
Beautiful recognizes and honors ITW for the corporation’s leadership in
environmental issues, and for its outstanding efforts to promote and
sustain volunteerism in America.
The Vision for America Award is presented annually to distinguished leaders of honored corporations, whose personal and corporate commitment has significantly enhanced civic, environmental, and social stewardship throughout the United States. ITW Chairman and CEO David B. Speer will accept the 23rd annual Vision for America Award on behalf of ITW and its employees on October 2 at a dinner at The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
“Keep America Beautiful chose ITW to receive the 2008 Vision for America Award for the corporation’s focus on the environment and commitment to communities,” said Keep America Beautiful President and CEO Matthew McKenna. “ITW provides a wonderful example of corporate citizenship and social responsibility that we are proud to honor.”
