Meet the new executive director of the Contract Packaging Association
The Contract Packaging Association (CPA), board of directors tapped packaging industry pro Mary Ahern to become its new executive director, succeeding Ed Landon, effective July 1. Ahern comes to the CPA from custom packaging manufacturer Magenta LLC, where she was business development manager and director of sales for 13 years. She was a sales pro for Silgan Closures as well as Alcoa Closure Systems International. Coregistics: New name reflects synergy of major contract packaging merger
Market Resource Packaging announced a new name to reflect its new vision and expanded capabilities: Coregistics. The announcement follows the company's purchase by IAM Acquisition, led by Eric Wilhelm, previously founder of the co-packing firm Wilpak, as Contract Packaging wrote in a May 2 report.
IAM "reassembled the majority of the Wilpak leadership team to further complement the original Market Resource Packaging Team,” according to Wilhelm. The resulting company offers more than 1 million sq. ft. and a broader range of high-volume, time-sensitive primary packaging, secondary packaging and logistics services. Joe Jaruszewski, president and cofounder of Market Resource Packaging and current president of the Contract Packaging Association, has hinted that additional “exciting announcements” are coming. What might they be?

New report outlines business drivers behind logistics outsourcing

In the nine-to-five world and then some, Jason Tham is CEO of Nulogy, the Toronto, Canada-based provider of PackManager software for contract packaging and manufacturing. He's also a director and chair of the associate member committee of the Contract Packaging Association.
