New shrink wrapper integrates PackML
Extreme Package Machinery will showcase an SAL-Series shrink wrap system with B&R Industrial Automation controls and PackML-compliant programming at PACK EXPO 2013. A single controller, a PP500 from B&R, manages motion and machine control. The PP500 connects to the servos, AC drives and I/O through the POWERLINK Ethernet network for high-speed control of all machine functions.

Overwrapping uses the least amount of energy and wrapping material compared to other wrapping methods. Package Machinery Company was first to market with a servo driven overwrapper and they are now showcasing their fourth generation of servo technology with the FA-ST servo overwrapper, which can achieve speeds up to 180 per minute.
