Packaging360 Leadership gives packaging professionals a well-rounded education beyond packaging technologies and design. The eight-hour course shows them how to think about packaging as an integrated system that becomes a strategic asset for their company.
The course is available exclusively through IoPP, expanding the Institute’s suite of online packaging education options and joining IoPP’s Fundamentals of Packaging Technology course at www.iopp.org. Packaging360 Leadership adds an advanced-level curriculum to IoPP’s online course catalog, building on packaging basics learned in the 27-hour Fundamentals course. These two e-learning programs recognize the value of packaging professionals’ time. The courses are designed so people can take either a full curriculum or customize their training with only the content they need. They complete the lessons at their convenience on their computer screen.
“IoPP is excited to launch this much-needed advanced course for packaging professionals,” says Patrick Farrey, IoPP Executive Director. “IoPP continues to look for new partnerships as part of our objective to launch training programs that give packaging professionals leading-edge skills while also elevating packaging’s influence among senior management.”
Packaging360 Leadership is taught by Fastraqq President Dan Balan and is available as a set of five primary, prerecorded modules, varying in length from about 70 to more than 90 minutes. The modules are:
▪ Mastering Packaging Convergence
▪ Mastering Supply Chains
▪ Mastering Your Customer’s World
▪ Mastering Your Internal Value Chain
▪ Mastering Sustainability
Participants may purchase either the entire course or individual modules. Register for the complete course and receive a bonus sixth module, Transform Your Packaging in 360 Days: A Structured Approach. This special 70-minute module applies all the principles learned in the course. It is not sold separately.
Each of the five primary modules concludes with a 50-question online exam to test knowledge retention. After successfully testing through each module—70% of the questions answered correctly—participants can download a Certificate of Completion for the module.
“In addition, IoPP will provide 1.5 CPEs for each completed module and a total of 8.5 CPEs for the complete course toward certification through IoPP,” says IoPP Director of Education Jim George, adding that the course has been reviewed by IoPP Certified Packaging Professionals.
Dan Balan, President of Fastraqq, narrates each module. He is a global leader in supply chain innovation who has advised global companies such as PepsiCo, Frito-Lay, Tropicana, Motorola, Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co., and Pregis. At no extra charge, Balan will hold a twice-monthly online “packaging excellence hour,” where he will lead live discussions about the Packaging360 Leadership course content. These discussions will be available only upon completion of the entire course, and details will be coming soon.
George urges companies to take a close look at Packaging360 Leadership to round out their packaging training programs. The course’s many actionable points will help their packaging operations to become better aligned with their overall business objectives—an area where many companies say they need to do better as they strive for leaner operations. “Packaging360 Leadership compels you to think about packaging strategically. The curriculum provides a lot of ideas for driving efficiencies and reducing costs,” George says.
To which Balan adds, “Packaging360 Leadership will equip you to evolve beyond mere tactical skills and designing boxes and cartons. It will educate you to understand the meshing points of packaging and business, so that you become a full-fledged business professional.”
