Gray & Company: Robots hit savings sweet spot for cherry cordial packaging

Gray & Co.&#44 Hart&#44 MI&#44 operates 24 robotic arms on two ‘counterflow’ production lines. Each of the arms picks and places Queen Anne brand chocolate-covered cordials at an amazing rate of 1.5 cordials/sec into six-count plastic trays. Robotic system includes infrared scanners&#44 PLCs&#44 and proprietary software.

The 4-axis SNC Model F-44 robots were built by Schubert in Germany and supplied by Schubert Packaging Systems (Addison, TX) as part of a pair of side-by-side 55' x 10' robotic systems, one per production line.
