Swiss milk gets graphically-enhanced gabletops

Milchzentrale Bad Ragaz is banking on cartons that offer higher-profile positioning.
By Judy Rice,
During early Summer 2008, Milchzentrale Bad Ragaz, a Switzerland-based dairy coop, began marketing "Milch aus der Ferienregion Heidiland" (milk from the holiday region Heidiland) and "Biomilch" (organic milk) in Diamond Pure-PakĀ® Curve one-liter and half-liter gabletop cartons from Elopak (www.elopak.com).

The Elopak cartons are characterized by their large screw caps, ergonomically contoured easy-grip design, and expanded shelf-facing space for product information and promotional messages. The cartons are produced and filled on new Elopak RG21 equipment with integrated cap applicators.

The carton graphics were designed by Zweidler & Partner GmbH (www.zweidler.com), also of Bad Ragaz, and feature illustrations of the natural landscapes and spas of the Bad Ragaz/Heidiland region. Graphics are printed using UV-flexo technology. The dairy co-op likes the enhanced panel space for conveying higher-profile product image and information, as well as the easy-grip, easy-pour aspects of the cartons.
