Salsas in 48-oz bottle twin-packs

The jugs are custom-manufactured by Consolidated Container Co. (www.cccllc.com) and designed and distributed by major packaging developer and distributor TricorBraun (www.tricorbraun.com).

The bottles feature a 63-mm finish with multiple thread starts (interrupted threads), similar to the type of finish used on glass bottles, and typically used for hot-fill products such as these salsas. Plastic twist closures with built-in induction seal liners--sealed by Enercon (www.enerconind.com)-- provide tamper evidence and barrier against moisture and oxygen. They’re supplied by Berry Plastics Corp. (www.berryplastics.com). In-line capping equipment is from Pneumatic Scale Corp. (www.barry-wehmillerco.com).

Pressure-sensitive labels are supplied by Custom Printed Products (www.cpp-flexo.com), and they are applied using equipment from Label-Aire, Inc. (www.label-aire-inc.com).

The jugs are shrink-wrapped together using 3-mil PVC shrink film supplied by Pack-Mark (www.pack-mark.com) and shrink equipment manufactured by Axon Corp. (www.axoncorp.com). San Antonio Farms also is planning to institute polypropylene carrier collars (called “dog bones”) supplied by PakTech (www.paktech-opi.com) for the salsa bottle packs.
