According to designers this particular mold was created with the knowledge that the syrup company didn’t want to invest in new retrofitted filling equipment. The traditional-shaped bottle is topped with a yellow snap closure from Seaquist Closures (Mukwonago WI). The new label was designed in house by designers at Blackburn. According to Ronnie Bullard vp of operations at Blackburn their main design goal was to maintain a look of nostalgia but update it a bit. For the bottle shape the company was looking for a slimmer shape that would fit more easily in the hand. Designers at TricorBraun were interested in modernizing the look of the package while also differentiating it from the competition. Blackburn syrup is available in 23 states and retails for $1.49.
