Juneau, Alaska-based Health Sea, Inc., and the Native American community of the Kake Tribal Corp. are counting on package design to successfully launch the Keta(TM) line of 99% fat-free smoked salmon products within four U.S.
test markets. Fisher Design (Cincinnati OH) helped develop the Keta trademark. It incorporates the tribal symbol of raven heads and eye a salmon and background graphics reflecting the wide-open spaces of Alaska. Health Sea introduced more than 15 Keta products this Spring in Denver Los Angeles San Francisco and Seattle. A national roll-out is expected in the near future. Products are sold in supermarkets where they're merchandised in the refrigerated case.
