Custom bottles boost promotion

Custom packaging played a key role in the success of a recent hair-care product promotion by Matrix® Essentials of Solon&#44 OH. The firm's Vavoom(TM) and Systeme Biolage® professional salon hair-care product lines were offered in a special 250-mL promotional size.

"This size works well because it is useable both in Europe and the United States" says Kimberly Mason senior packaging technologist at Matrix Essentials. Silgan Plastics Corp. (Chesterfield MO) extrusion blows the custom round bottles in matte black high-density polyethylene for the Vavoom line and in white ultragloss HDPE for Systeme Biolage. Both bottles contain 50% post consumer resin. Kaufman Container (Cleveland OH) supplies the bottles to Matrix Essentials and screen decorates them as well. Injection-molded polypropylene snap top closures from Sunbeam Plastics (Evansville IN) top the containers.
