PVC demand in packaging to grow 3%

A recent study by The Freedonia Group&#44 Cleveland&#44 OH&#44 says demand for polyvinyl chloride packaging in North America will grow an average 3% annually to reach 1billion lb in 1998.

Further growth will be threatened by maturity in film/ sheet uses and environmental concerns in the bottle segment. PVC packaging applications will account for about 8% of total North American PVC demand over the next decade the study says.
