Ice cream cup
Tetra Laval Food Hoyer (Pleasant Prarie, WI) has introduced the Tetra Cup. Targeted for ice cream applications, the polyethylene/ paperboard/polyethylene structure may soon be used for margarine or cultured products, according to the company.
Sizes from 2.5 oz to 1/2 gal are available. Shapes include traditional tapered rounds with a recessed bottom round or rounded-rectangular straightwall containers as well as a Tetra tube for squeeze-up ice creams. Tapered cups are formed at Tetra's new Pleasant Prarie plant while straightwall cups are shipped to the packager for forming.
