THK Caged Technology has added Caged Roller (for customers with specific rigidity requirements) and Caged Technology Ball Screw (incorporating a newly designed ball return tube and an elastometric spacer to separate balls) product groups to its existing Caged Ball™ product group.

Technology isolates each of the load-carrying re-circulating elements in the co.’s LM guides in an individual cage or pocket. This cage prevents ball-to-ball or roller-to-roller contact and the associated friction while also acting as a reservoir for lubricants eliminating the need for an external lubricating system. Systems also offer higher speed capabilities and with 1¼10th the torque deviation of standard LM guides greatly improved positioning accuracy. Specific benefits include increased speed and accuracy of motion decreased noise levels long-term maintenance-free operation and reduced sources of contamination.
