Flexicon offers Flexi 6744, a new peelable lidstock for thermoformed cups that seals through oil and chemical contamination. Lamination is made from polyester and foil, plus a proprietary, 3-layer, coextruded sealant.
Suitable applications include meats gravies (with grease) sauces medical ointments/lotions and cosmetics. Flexi 6744 has been engineered to mate with thermoformed cups and trays containing a DuPont Surlyn® ionomer sealant layer a combination that offers good consistent peel seals through tough contamination. The film provides an alternative value-added package type for products currently in a 4-sided heat-sealed package.
