Corn snack in hybrid hex carton

Atypical design makes for a striking billboard effect.

Pw 45705 7 Cluby Corn2

What appears to be a Japanese version of General Mills’ Bugles bagged and packaged inside a modified hexagonal carton sells at a Tokyo grocery store for ¥300/USD $3.74. When stacked for display with larger front and back panels than smaller side panels, the cartons of House Foods’ “Tongari Corn” snacks make for an eye-catching billboard effect. An opening perforation on the upper portion of the carton is also notable, atypical of cartoned products that open via the top flaps. The product was introduced in 1978.
