Soft-mesh produce packaging is environmentally friendly

A 5 lb. soft mesh bag (high graphic film 120mm width) from Giro Pack contains 8.01 grams of recyclable plastic compared to a traditional 5 lb. poly bag (1.5 mil) with 10.26 grams of plastic, providing 21.9% less packaging material.

If a large retailer were to make the change from poly to mesh bags for produce packaging, they would get a 5-year supply of mesh out of a 4-year supply of poly—saving money and the environment.
Soft mesh bags also reduce waste in the manufacturing process, and provide a savings in the transportation, shipping and storage of produce commodity items.
