Pactiv: Inflatable pouch
Pactiv (Lake Forest, IL) offers its new Pactiv Air 2000 inflatable pouch system, which is designed to suspend and protect a product between 2 layers of inflated, coextruded film.
Two heavy-gauge tri-layer coextruded film layers made from an LDPE/nylon blend are heat sealed around the edges. An inflator valve made from identical material is inserted into the perimeter. A middle pocket holds the product between the two inflated chambers. Pouches can be placed in a corrugated shipper or folding carton creating a snug fit and minimizing damage during transport. Product can be extracted by piercing and deflating the chambers with a pointed object.
