Wine label evokes Chilean heritage

Franciscan Estate, a St. Helena, CA-based winery, wanted to “create a story” for Primus, its premium Chilean red table wine. To achieve that, the winery turned to Michael Osborne Design (San Francisco, CA) to create a label that would evoke a sense of the vintage’s rich Chilean heritage.

The label bears a medallion inspired by Chilean Mapuche Indian artwork. The kraft paper-colored pressure-sensitive label is offset-printed in three colors. The label is also foil-stamped in both copper and burgundy colors. Since its release in October Primus has been distributed to the retail and on-premise markets such as hotels and restaurants.
