–Rohm and Haas Co. (Philadelphia, PA) has started production of adhesives for the Latin American Region at its new Brazilian adhesives plant in Jacare’.
–Exposium (Cedex France) bought 50% of the PACex fair from the Packaging Assn. of Canada (Toronto Ontario Canada).
–Crown Cork & Seal Co. Inc. (Philadelphia PA) released its Eole III™ technology to be produced at the company’s Massillon OH facility.
–Emtech Emulsion Technologies Inc. (Medina OH) will combine with 3M’s (St. Paul MN) label business creating a single 3M operating unit.
–Bradman-Lake (Charlotte NC) entered into a mfg. and marketing agreement with Propack Processing and Packaging Systems Inc. (Ontario Canada) to produce its vertical racetrack robotic loading system.
–Pactiv (Lake Forest IL) completed the acquisition of Winkler Forming Inc. (Santa Fe Springs CA).
–Kryotrans (Victoria London England) formed an alliance with Lydall Inc. (Manchester CT) to help supply Biopak® flexible containers to the bioprocessing industry.
–Flint Ink (Ann Arbor MI) signed a joint venture agreement with Graphic-Tec (Hong Kong China) to manufacture printing ink in Beijing China. Additionally Flint Ink will help provide “smart” ink and coatings systems to brand-name product manufacturers throughout the world through an agreement struck with KeyMaster Technologies Inc. (Kennewick WA).
–Bemis Co. (Minneapolis MN) purchased the global Clysar® shrink film business of DuPont (Wilmington DE) and will be distributed in the United Kingdom and Ireland by Wrapid Packaging Systems Ltd. (West Yorkshire England).
–Alloyd Co. (Concord MA) is standardizing its software by using only 3-D CAD software called SolidWorks®.
–Schubert Packaging Systems (Addison TX) opened its new 12 sq’ North American headquarters building in Addison TX near Dallas.
–The Processing and Packaging Machinery Assn. (Wallington Surrey England) and Reed Exhibitions (Richmond Surrey England) have agreed to merge their exhibition activities in Britain.
–The Xpedx (Covington KY) div. of International Paper Co. and Triangle Package Machinery (Chicago IL) teamed to provide custom designed and fully integrated packaging lines to packagers throughout the United States.
