Barrier wrap is compostable
Dark chocolate from Ecuador is wrapped in a biodegradable and compostable film that has a moisture barrier nearly as good as coextruded OPP.
Amigos International of Holland is using Innovia’s NatureFlex NK to wrap its new range of Fair Trade organic chocolate from Ecuador. According to packagingessentials.com, Amigos likes NatureFlex because its modest carbon footprint philosophically complements the organic qualities of the Fair Trade chocolate.
NatureFlex is sourced from wood and breaks down at the end of its life cycle in a home or industrial compost within weeks. These films meet both the European and American standards for compostable packaging.
