By
Named the Ted Klein Tube of the Year was a 11¼2”-dia white high-density polyethylene tube for Johnson & Johnson Skin Crack Ointment. Made by Alcan Packaging Cebal the tube has a satin matte coating to highlight graphics and product description. The package comes with a blue Cebal flip-top cap that opens quickly to dispense product accurately and easily.Winning the Bernard M. Seid Best of Show award in NACD’s competition was Halo Hair Care Products marketed by GWI a division of Procter & Gamble. This package uses a combination of custom and stock components. A custom clear injection stretch/blow-molded PET cylinder was designed with an indented base and shoulder so that a custom overcap and base cup could be matched. An injection-molded polypropylene overcap fits around a stock disc-top closure and those components are all color matched in various pearlescent colors identifying each SKU. The same bottle is used for all SKUs reducing inventory inefficiencies. Clear pressure-sensitive labels of biaxially oriented PP on the back and front show off the products and the product hot-stamped on silver reflects light glowing like the pearlescent components.
