Moving more milk
How can packaging be changed to get people to drink more milk?
That's just what the Fluid Milk Strategic Thinking initiative intends to find out. The project a joint venture of the Milk Industry Foundation MilkPEP and Dairy Management Inc. is designed to boost milk's competitive position versus other beverages. Packaging is one of five areas under review. The project is examining ways to make milk packaging more competitive with other beverages in terms of size shape graphics portability ease of opening and resealability. Judging by two of the stories in this issue-one about Mayfield Dairy on p. 62 and the other about milk-it!(TM) on p. 25-it would appear that some progress is already underway.
