Dyna-Tabs, LLC, Brooklyn, NY, brings the melt-on-the-tongue convenience of dissolvable strips in portable packaging to a line of eight vitamin and dietary supplements introduced globally in April 2005.

Intended for active on-the-go people the ultra-thin hinged plastic dispensing packs contain 30 strips. The product formulations address wellness issues such as immune health or memory in flavors such as spearmint or kiwi-strawberry. The hinged vials are sold in blister-carded packs for $2.99 to $3.49. “People are looking for simple and easy ways to take care of their bodies at a reasonable price” says Dyna-Tabs’ cofounder Harold Baum. “Taking care of yourself doesn’t have to be inconvenient and good health is possible on the go.”The dispensing packs keep the strips dry and fresh Baum points out: “In this format consumers can achieve the results they want using small convenient packaging rather than bulky bottles.” The dispensing packs are injection molded in various colors that contrast with the strips’ color and provide a barrier to sunlight which can cause the strips to dry and become brittle according to Baum.Design Edge’s graphics create “packaging that would be universally accepted at all outlets from supermarkets to convenience stores to gas stations” says Baum.Dyna-Tabs self-packages the strips at rates of 10 units/hr using unspecified “high-tech” machinery.
Baum informs PW that Dyna-Tabs will introduce more than 50 items that tap into wellness trends in “timed intervals so we don’t confuse the market and buyers.” It also plans to change the hinged vials to a two-piece design with a sliding reclosable cover by mid-year. —Rick Lingle
