“Creating a buzz and distinguishing your [brand] from the crowd are the top priorities for any consumer products company” notes Mike Owens A-B’s vice president of sales and marketing. “The aluminum bottle has definitely hit the mark for us. We knew people would love the aluminum bottle because it is cool and different.” Owens reports that the package is generating increased interest in the beer category as a whole. All bottles are produced by Exal USA with metal crown closures from Crown Holdings.

Following its February introduction Budweiser Select became available nationally this summer (see packworld.com/go/c145) with a sleek silver finish joining other A-B brands in the container. Six A-B varieties are now sold in the new bottle. Select is sold in bars clubs supermarkets and convenience stores.
