From Owens-Illinois comes the Regal™, a 1-piece closure system featuring an O-I Outside Deformable Seal (ODS) closure. Currently used to top 250-mL PET carbonated soft drink bottles in European markets, the Regal closure meets package performance tests including CO2 retention of up to 4.7 gas volumes.

Designed to maintain original product taste in high temperatures closure can be modified to include an oxygen barrier for beer applications. Available in standard mid-height and short-height PCO finishes Regal can be produced in several colors or customized for other beverage applications including pressurized water and low- and high-carbonation drinks.
