In-line fluorinated and ultra-clean HDPE containers for packaging of solvent-based and high-purity products have been introduced by Airopak (Manchester, PA).
The in-line fluorination of interior HDPE surfaces is said to create an effective fluorocarbon barrier that resists chemical attack and permeation. The one-gal container has a recessed panel height of 5.3" a 38/400 neck finish and weighs 150 g. Some applications include lawn and garden chemicals; automotive waxes polishes oils and additives; and petroleum and d-limonene-based cleaning products.
