Dexco Polymers has commercialized a new grade of Vector® styrenic block copolymer designed for the hot- melt adhesive label market. Developed under the designation DPX 586A, this new copolymer, Vector 4186A, has a patented, 4-arm radial SIS block copolymer structure with high styrene-isoprene diblock content. Designed to improve the die-cuttability performance in label stock applications, the copolymer offers a low melt viscosity, which allows for low coating temperatures, high adhesion properties, and low migration into label stock. Copolymer can also work in other p-s adhesive applications that require low viscosity and high cohesive strength properties, such as masking tape and specialty tapes.
