For use in detecting diversion and unauthorized distribution, Biocode(TM) is a covert surface marking technology from Biocode (Cambridge, MA). This patent-pending coding can be applied through on-line ink-jet printing systems to produce invisible codes on packaging, labels or bottles.
Spee-Dee Packaging Machinery (Sturtevant, WI) has introduced the first "Statistics" package available for an auger filler. Used in conjunction with any system providing a package weight--in-line checkweighing, off-line checkweighing, or net weigh fill--it provides the quality control manager with a real-time, on-screen method of monitoring filling operations.

Sato America (Sunnyvale, CA) has introduced the CL-412, a high-resolution, competitively priced thermal-transfer bar code printer. It employs a replaceable plug-in interface module, which allows users to change interface types without having to upgrade the printer.
Zed Industries (Vandalia, OH) has added touch-screen controls to its Auto Skin-Trim in-line skin-packaging machine. Designed for high-volume skin packaging using 18" x 24" master cards, it operates at speeds in excess of 10 cycles/min.
