Curvy can due out this month, says Coke
Tested in Germany but so far only talked about here, The Coca-Cola Co.'s contour can is set to make its U.S. debut early this month in Terre Haute, IN, and in four Southwest markets.
American National Can (Chicago IL) developed the exclusive shaping technology jointly with Oberburg Eng. of Switzerland. "We want to see how the contour can actually works in the marketplace" says Coca-Cola USA president Jack Stahl. A special six-pack overwrap carrier with partially open corners to showcase the contour cans inside has been designed for the introduction. It will be followed by eight- and 18-packs says Coke spokesperson Carol Martel.
