More action on milk labeling
In its petition MIF noted that FDA in practice has long sanctioned synonymous use of "skim" and "nonfat" in milk product labeling since both meet the standard of containing less than 0.5 grams of fat per serving. Some milk processors use "skim" while others use "nonfat" in labeling identical products. The two terms have come to be synonymous in consumers' minds the trade group noted.
