The two groups are the Grocery Manufacturers of America (GMA) and the National Grocers Assn. (NGA). "The industry is going to see increased activity at the federal state and local level in areas from rBST labeling to rigid plastic container laws to snack taxes" said GMA President and CEO C. Manly Molpus. "GMA and NGA grassroots efforts will focus on such other top national issues as regulatory reform national uniformity on food laws and tax reform as well as state issues including discriminatory food taxes biotechnology labeling packaging mandates and forced deposit laws."
