Free Interpack 2005 machinery guide from ELAU
66.7% of survey respondents consider Interpack an important source of information on advanced packaging technologies.
ELAU offers free Interpack 2005 machinery guide
ELAU is co-sponsoring the first Interpack Machinery Guide – a free pocket-sized directory of packaging and confectionary machines at the huge show that takes place every three years in Düsseldorf Germany.
According to a survey conducted by Packaging World while only 12.2% of respondents plan to attend 66.7% consider the show an important source of information on advanced packaging technologies.
For this reason tens of thousands of copies of the convenient pocket guide are being distributed in the U.S. and European countries by co-sponsors Packaging World Emballage Digest Neue Verpackung and Italia Imballaggio magazines.
ELAU sponsored the first-ever PACK EXPO Pocket Machinery Locator in 2004 and the response was so positive that management decided to produce an even bigger guide for Interpack. The 2004 guide included over 50 exhibitors offering ELAU’s PacDrive™ automation system on their machines. The 2005 Interpack guide lists well over 100 ELAU customers which is also twice as many as at Interpack 2002. In fact the company believes that it is now not only the world’s fastest growing supplier of automation systems for servo packaging machinery but also the largest.

There are three factors for this sustained growth. First more machine builders and end users worldwide are specifying ELAU’s PacDrive architecture to automate their packaging machinery. Second ELAU customers are experiencing strong growth as well. Finally servo axis count per machine is growing for two reasons. More customers require the throughput fast changeovers simplified validation and reduction of human error that the PacDrive system was designed to enable. ELAU has also opened new machinery categories to servo automation. These include rotary machines through its award-winning PacDrive SCL integral servo/drive technology and robotic subsystems through its open architecture software object approach to robotic control.
ELAU will also take the opportunity at Interpack to introduce new application-specific development templates that the company calls “technology packages.” The templates dramatically reduce the programming required to achieve basic packaging functionalities allowing machine designers to focus maximum attention on innovations that differentiate their products. The so-called technology packages will be introduced for form/fill/seal capping labeling pick & place cartoning and packaging line functionalities.
