Space saving PRB side loading case packer--ideal for pharma

PRB Packaging Systems has addressed the pharmaceutical industry's requests for small footprint and 20% free cabinet space for expansion, using ELAU's compact servo technology. The Flexefar side loading servo case packer is a cantilever design, quick change machine and one of the smallest machines of its kind.

Engineering manager Enrico Paolucci shares the design philosophy of maintaining positive control over the product and the case, from product collation at the rear of the machine, to pushing into the pre-erected cases at the front.

This assures accurate filling and squared cases despite possible imperfections in case production. It also supports the notion of sustainability, where corrugate reduction and recycled material initiatives place a premium on equipment's ability to run difficult materials.

ELAU automation has also reduced electrical cabinet requirements, freeing up the required space without increasing size. There are no pneumatic movements whatsoever, it is fully servo driven.
