Prasmatic 45 cpm case/tray packer automates size changes
Highlighting the European trend toward fully automated servo changeover are Prasmatic's TC 450 Series continuous motion, full case, wrap-around case and tray packers. Combi tray/film and pad/film wrappers are also available.
Glauco Cima, area manager for North America, showed that with one adjustment, all guides would be automatically adjusted by 5 ELAU servos. The machines are equipped with up to 18 servo axes as well as Telemecanique variable frequency drives from Schneider Electric for highly automated, flexible operation.
One of the few manual operations, case replenishment, benefits from a high capacity in-line magazine, ergonomically mounted low and outside the machine, in which case blanks are loaded vertically.
Magazine capacity is up to 600 blanks depending on thickness, and speed is up to 45 packs per minute, depending on size and product characteristics.
