The Versatron case packer from Standard-Knapp (Portland, CT) is now equipped with Soft-Catch technology, a feature that lifts the case up and then lowers it at the same speed as the dropping product, making the case bottom a more yielding surface that receives the product gently.
Because both the upward and downward movements of the case are servo-driven the number of mechanical parts is greatly reduced. The machine packs up to 40 cases/min.
