After film is pulled through a vf/f/s section and bags are filled with coffee, a heater bar heat seals the top of the bags. Later, a tin-tie is automatically applied and folded for each bag. Finally, each bag has tape applied to its top and the bags are then discharged from the machine.
The economical Flash 250 series of vf/f/s systems from PMB-UVA (Richmond, VA) provides single-axis servo drive, and speeds to 120 packs/min. Made of stainless steel, the equipment can produce pillow and flat-bottom, side-gusseted bags for food and non-food applications.
The Rovema (Lawrenceville, GA) SBS 250 Brick Pack machine was created for efficient and cost-effective production of flat-bottom style bags with a variety of top-closing designs and reclosable features.
The FS Series packaging splicer from Keene Technology (South Beloit, IL) continuously unwinds a web directly into the process line. With 2 roll unwind positions and fully automatic splicing capabilities, the machine eliminates the need to stop the process line for roll changes of web material for vf/f/s machines. The solid construction, compact design, and affordable price are all features that the company says will help packagers increase production by reducing downtime.
