Medical device packaging system
TiroBreathe is a patent-pending medical device packaging system introduced by Tiromat Medical Packaging. Unlike medical device packs that use a porous material throughout the top lidding to accommodate Eto sterilization, TiroBreathe incorporates only a small “window” or “vent” of porous material for sterilization.
The rest of the lidding can be made from less costly films. TiroBreathe may be integrated into existing or new Tiromats or other thermoform/fill/seal machines. The vent material unwinds at right angle to the lidding material to which it’s sealed. The lidding is later sealed to the product-filled bottom film web. TiroBreathe was shown at EastPack, in tandem with Greydon’s platen printer to print the top film and the vent in line.
