Flow-wrapper offers thermoforming shelf life

Ilapak will show the Delta VacMap™, a flow wrapper that offers a three-in-one packaging solution: flow wrapping, modified atmosphere, and VacMap™.

This high-performance hf/f/s flow-wrapper combines vacuum and MAP packaging; it's in-line vacuum system allows the machine to extract trapped pockets of oxygen found inside the product itself, particularly spongy bakery products, to keep the product fresh for longer. This process achieves a comparable shelf life to thermoforming, but represents a more economical alternative, company says.
