Südpack USA Inc., subsidiary of Germany-based Südpack GmbH & Co. KG, opened a U.S headquarters in Chicago.
RMGroup has designed and manufactured the world’s first “mobile packaging plant” in an effort to see a dramatic reduction in transportation times and cost. The systems are made to order and generally include f/f/s baggers, bulk hoppers, and robot stacking systems for automated bag stacking.
Plastipak Packaging Inc., based in Plymouth, MI, acquired the U.S. assets of blow molder Constar International Holdings LLC. Plastipak will pay $102.45 million for Constar’s assets, according to a Feb. 6 asset purchase agreement.
WS Packaging Group expanded its Knoxville, TN, facility by consolidating production from five separate facilities into a single site.
Transparent Container Co., Inc. added capacity and reduced lead times with the purchase of a new Makino F8 vertical machining center; the firm also recently completed ComboBlister® run number 10,000.
UPS acquired U.K.-based Polar Speed to strengthen UPS’s healthcare network across Europe.
Bob Williams was appointed Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Axon, Div. of Pro Mach, Inc.
Randy Uebler was appointed Vice President and General Manager of Fowler Products, Div. of Pro Mach, Inc.
Bo Thompson was hired as Business Development Leader, Electronics Packaging for Multisorb Technologies.
Michael Bradshaw joined Unisource as Product Development Manager—Paperboard.
Mitch Graham was appointed Marketing Program Specialist, Marketing Communications Dept., for Eriez.
Jon Ballou was named President and COO of Douglas Machine Inc.
Aurelio Banda was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Beckhoff Automation LLC.
Dan Nasato was hired as Director of Market Development for Hytrol Conveyor Co.
Baldor announced the following promotions: Jeff Moore was named Vice President of the Baldor-Dodge brand mechanical product marketing group,
Bob Nemecek was named Vice President of Baldor-Dodge mechanical sales for North America, and Mike Shea was named Director of U.S. Mechanical Sales.
Chad Tebben was appointed Mid-Central Regional Sales Manager for Dorner Mfg. Corp.
