The training and demonstration center offers FKI Logistex customers access to automated sortation, conveying, AS/RS, and order fulfillment systems for solutions demonstrations, proof-of-concept testing, and operator training. Companies can test their own products and containers on the equipment, too.

"The [TEC] is unique in the automated material handling industry," says Steve Ackerman, FKI Logistex president, North America. "It offers advanced hands-on learning while enhancing our existing and prospective customer relationships."

At the grand opening, a seven-lane handling and sortation system (shown) operated at a rate of more than 400 containers/min, which is claimed as the world's fastest.

At the event, company staff also mentioned the possibility of developing TEC partnerships with student engineers at area schools, and noted that new RFID systems will also be part of the Center.
