Checkers-playing robot: just for fun
What a better way to demonstrate a robot controller’s dexterity than to play checkers while tracking a rotating checkers board?
Combine a shareware program that makes a computer virtually impossible to defeat at checkers with a powerful, open architecture robot controller and what do you get?
You have a challenge for visitors to the Schneider Electric ELAU Packaging Solutions booth.
The packaging automation engineers responsible for helping machine builders embed robotic capabilities into their machine designs had a bit of fun preparing this demo for PACK EXPO 2009. The robot plays at three levels, so if you can beat it on the ‘easy’ setting you certainly will be challenged by ‘medium’ and ‘hard’ play.
Although this robot is not for sale, it highlighted the potential of Schneider Electric’s new ELAU P4 robot, introduced at PACK EXPO.
