Campbell’s Soup, Coca-Cola join roster of expert presenters at The Automation Conference

Recently added to the speaker line-up at The Automation Conference 2013 are professionals from Campbell Soup Company, Coca-Cola, Tofino Security, and

To be held May 14-15 at the Chicago Marriott O’Hare, The Automation Conference will focus on driving manufacturing and packaging efficiency with automation. Designed for engineering and management professionals within packaging, manufacturing, and processing industries, this year’s conference features two days and over 20 educational presentations for individuals who want to learn more about increasing efficiency with automation.

Tom Braydich, Director of Controls and Maintenance Systems Engineering at Campbell Soup Company, has joined the conference speaker line-up to discuss “Capturing Process Data to Improve Manufacturing Performance.” Bringing expertise in cloud computing, Kai Mariappan, Plant Controls Specialist at Coca-Cola, will discuss how Coca-Cola uses cloud computing for automation system maintenance.

Recently added to the agenda is Eric Byres, recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in the field of SCADA security. Byers, CTO and VP Engineering at Tofino Security, will cover top-level automation security issues. Also presenting is Mitch Free, the founder of, the world’s leading online manufacturing marketplace for made-to-order parts. Free will share his vision in a keynote on “The Next Industrial Revolution.” Additionally, well-known author and manufacturing automation, operations and IT consultant, Dennis Brandl will present at The Automation Conference. Referencing his new book – Plant IT: Integrating Information Technology into Automated Manufacturing – Brandl will educate attendees on best practices for applying IT in industry.

These professionals join previously announced speakers from PepsiCo; private label pharmaceutical manufacturer Perrigo; Control System Integrators Association; Ken’s Foods; Nova Chemicals; Chicago-based Skolnik Industries; Altera; SL Controls, and many others.

Keynote and session topics include: convergence of factory automation and enterprise IT; validation challenges for pharmaceutical manufacturers; optimizing packaging machinery speed relationships; energy efficiency; cloud computing; Ethernet for the plant floor; and other issues relevant for today’s industry professionals.
