Proximity sensors

New versions of magnetic proximity sensors from the MM12 and MM18 series are now available from Sick (Minneapolis, MN). These new sensors conform to NAMUR, and may be used in Explosion Protection Zone 1.

Sensors are sturdier and less expensive compared to other electronic sensors company says. Sensors offer sensing distances up to 70 mm and can sense magnetic objects including permanent magnets as well as nonmagnetizable materials. A diversity of shapes and sizes makes sensors ideal for diverse applications and environments including position polling and detection transport monitoring pulse counting speed monitoring and direction detection feed and ejection control and no-load and backlog monitoring.
