IDEC Corporation: Laser sensor quickly detects tiny, fast-moving objects

With a response time of only 250 micro seconds, the SA1E-L Laser Sensor from IDEC Corporation is designed for accurate and reliable sensing of fast-moving and/or tiny objects through narrow or limited spaces, or at a long distance.

A visible, red laser allows easy optic axis alignment and precision mounting. Choose from through-beam, background suppression and polarized retro-reflective laser models. Through-beam models are capable of detecting objects up to 30 meters, while the polarized retro-reflective and background suppression models detect objects at up to 10 meters and 300mm respectively. These laser models also have a built-in mode to select Dark ON or Light ON operation. Available models include 1 meter, 2 meter, and 5 meter cables, or an M8 connector.

The SA1E family offers seven different optical functions: through-beam, polarized retro-reflective, polarized retro-reflective for transparent objects, diffuse-reflective, small-beam reflective, convergent and background suppression. All SA1E sensors are IP67 rated (dust and water resistant), cULus and CE compliant.
